Tikun Leil Shavuot

Come join the Shir Hadash community for an amazing night of learning, great refreshments and wonderful fellowship. As always, the all-night learning will take place at the Pear home (HaPalmach 54/3) with tephillot before and after at Shir Hadash’s main location at Yakov Rubin Street #1 overlooking the Chorshat Ha’Yareach.

The tikun leil will conclude in time for people to walk to either the Kotel or Shir Hadash in time for vatikin minyanim.

About our Speakers

Rabbi David Silber is the founder and dean of Drisha Institute for Jewish Education in New York and Israel. Rabbi Silber received ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. He is a recipient of the Covenant Award, for excellence in innovative Jewish education, and is the author of A Passover Haggadah: Go Forth and Learn (Jewish Publication Society 2011) and For Such a Time as This: Biblical Reflections in the Book of Esther (Koren Publishers 2017). He is also a nationally acclaimed lecturer on the Bible. Rabbi Silber is married to Dr. Devora Steinmetz. They have eight children and live in New York City.

Yael Unterman is a Jerusalem-based author, lecturer, and Bibliodrama facilitator. Her first book “Nehama Leibowitz, Teacher and Bible Scholar” was a finalist in the 2009 National Jewish Book Awards . Her second book, a collection of fictional stories, “The Hidden of Things: Twelve Stories of Love & Longing”, was a finalist for the USA Best Book. Since covid 19 hit globally, she has been doing weekly zooms in bibliodrama, a depth modern midrash technique that is not acting.

Rabbi Aron White, is the Associate Editor of HaMizrachi Magazine. Originally from the UK, he has Semikha from RIETS (Yeshiva University), a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of London and a Masters in Jewish History from the Bernard Revel Graduate School at YU.
